Presentation Overview

Each presenter will have a total of 15 minutes to present their work:

Time Allocation
  • 10-12 minutes for your presentation
  • 3-5 minutes for Q&A session
Important

Please respect the time limits. The session chair will give time signals.

Key Requirements

  • Maximum 15 slides (including title and thank you slides)
  • Use the official SmartTech 2025 presentation template
  • Widescreen format (16:9 aspect ratio)
  • Submit your slides 24 hours before your session
  • Bring a backup copy on USB drive

Content Guidelines

Ensure your presentation content is clear, focused, and engaging.

General Principles

  • Focus on key contributions rather than exhaustive details
  • Use simple language accessible to a broad audience
  • Limit text to 6-8 bullet points per slide
  • Use visuals (charts, diagrams) instead of text where possible
  • Highlight novelty and practical implications

  • Use high-quality images and diagrams
  • Include quantitative results in tables/charts
  • Explain acronyms on first use
  • Practice your timing
  • Prepare for common questions

  • Read directly from slides
  • Overcrowd slides with text
  • Include every detail from the paper

Typography

Figures and Charts

  • Use high-resolution images (minimum 150 DPI)
  • Ensure text in figures is readable from a distance

Before Your Presentation

  • Practice your presentation multiple times
  • Time yourself to ensure you stay within limits
  • Arrive at your session 15 minutes early
  • Test your slides on the conference equipment
  • Prepare backup slides for potential questions

During Your Presentation

  • Speak clearly and at a moderate pace
  • Make eye contact with the audience
  • Use a laser pointer for indicating key elements
  • Pause after key points to let them sink in
  • Watch the time and adjust pace if needed

Q&A Session

  • Listen carefully to each question
  • Repeat the question for the audience if needed
  • Answer concisely and stay on topic
  • It's okay to say "I don't know" or offer to follow up later
  • Thank the questioner after each response

Technical Requirements

Ensure your presentation meets these technical specifications.

File Format

  • Preferred: PDF (best for font/layout consistency)
  • Accepted: PowerPoint (.pptx)
  • Embed all fonts if using PowerPoint
  • Convert special fonts to outlines if using PDF

Slide Dimensions

  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 (Widescreen)
  • Resolution: 1920 × 1080 pixels (Full HD)
  • Do not use 4:3 format

Submission

  • Submit your final slides via the conference system 24 hours before your session
  • File naming: PaperID_AuthorLastName_Presentation.pdf
  • Bring a backup on USB drive to the session
  • If using videos, ensure they are embedded or provide separate files
Virtual Presenters: If you are presenting virtually, please test your connection and audio/video setup before the session. Ensure you are in a quiet environment with stable internet.
